The four members of the Q-Arte Quartet are active professors in different universities in the country, and among their priorities has always been the participation in different educational programs and festivals in Colombia and abroad. 


It is a biennial event based in Bogota, created in 2014 by the Q-Arte Quartet for the encounter between professional musicians, students and the general public around music for string quartets. Each version of the festival has presented an intense agenda of concerts, master classes, workshops, lectures and conferences.

National Composition Competition for String Quartets

The National Composition Competition for String Quartets is a fundamental platform to stimulate and disseminate the work of Colombian composers and generate exchange between creators and performers.

Reading sessions

The quartet has carried out several collaborations and reading sessions in different institutions, such as “Chicago Columbian College”, “Kent University” in the United States, “Festival Instrumenta Oaxaca” in Mexico, “Jornadas de Música Contemporánea CCMC”, “Pontificia Universidad Javeriana” and the “Cátedra Bogotá Musical”. 

Research projects

The Quartet has developed numerous research projects, such as “String Quartets by Colombian composers Guillermo Uribe Holguin, Guillermo Quevedo Zornoza and Pedro Biava” and the “Critical Edition of some chamber compositions by Colombian composer Blas Emilio Atehortúa” and “Chamber Music: Fabio González Zuleta”, among others.
